Pennsylvania ## Pennsylvania Insurance Prelicensing Information Updated April 25, 2025 This information is for pre-licensing. If you want to know the continuing education requirements, visit [Continuing Education Requirements](/en/ce-state-requirements/pennsylvania). ### Requirements Overview Pennsylvania does not require licensing candidates to complete prelicensing education; however, EducUp highly recommends that you complete an educational course before attempting to take your state's licensing exam. ### How to Get Your License 1 #### Complete Prelicensing Course (Optional) Complete an optional prelicensing course that helps prepare you to take and pass your licensing exam. 2 #### Schedule Your Exam Schedule your exam with your state’s testing provider, PSI. The fastest way to schedule your exam is to do so online at [PSI Exams](https://test-takers.psiexams.com/pain) or call (888) 818-5822. Your exam may be taken at a physical PSI examination center or via a remote online proctored exam. Exam fees must be paid at the time of reservation. 3 #### Take the Licensing Exam Take and pass your state licensing exam. On the day of your appointment, you must bring with you one valid form of government issued identification (driver’s license, passport, military I.D., etc.) which must contain your name and photograph. You will not be able to take your exam if these requirements are not met. Security measures are taken for all testing methods. Restrictions on what you may bring with you to the testing center, into the testing room, and what you may wear will be enforced. Your score will be displayed on screen at the end of the examination and a score report will be emailed to you. It is recommended that you complete your licensing application before beginning the fingerprinting process.
