Arkansas Insurance Prelicensing Information
Requirements Overview
Arkansas requires producer licensing candidates to take and complete a state-approved prelicensing course. You will also need to apply for your license with the state insurance department and register for the state licensing exam. Make sure to register for all 3 (prelicensing course, license application, state exam) using the personally identifiable information exactly as it appears on your government-issued ID. Discrepancies will delay the licensing process.

How to Complete Your EducUp Prelicensing Education Course?
Arkansas requires 20 hours of prelicensing education for each line of authority; and 40 for dual line of authority.

- Read every chapter and take the end-of-chapter quiz scoring 70% or better.
- Spend a minimum of 20 hours studying per line of authority.
- Complete and pass the Certificate Exam with a minimum score of 70%.

How to Get Your License
Complete a prelicensing course that has been approved by the Department of Insurance.
Once you have completed your course, EducUp will issue a certificate of completion, which you may download and print from your online EducUp account.
Complete the Electronic Resident Licensing Application at NIPR and the Criminal Background Check.

Receive the Authorization to Test Confirmation via email from PSI.
The Authorization to Test Confirmation is a separate document from the Certificate of Completion and must be obtained from PSI. Please allow four business days for PSI to process your Registration. After four business days, you may go online or call PSI to schedule the examination.

You can register online by accessing PSI's registration website candidate.psiexams.com 24 hours a day. For phone registration, you will need a valid credit card and can call PSI at (855) 518-7458.
Security measures are taken for all testing methods. Restrictions on what you may bring with you to the testing center, into the testing room, and what you may wear will be enforced. For more detailed information about the security measures that will be taken during your testing appointment, please read and review the candidate bulletin offered at PSI Exams candidate.psiexams.com.
To change or cancel your testing appointment, you must contact PSI at least 48 hours in advance or forfeit the examination fee.
Take and pass your state licensing exam.
On the day of your appointment, you must bring with you two valid forms of government issued identification (driver's license, passport, military I.D., etc.) One form must contain your name and photograph, and the second form must be signature-bearing. You will not be able to take your exam if these requirements are not met.
